How can you be scared of swimming no longer?

Young and old alike can all recognize themselves in this blog.

I don’t know how to swim,
and no I don’t want to go into the water!
Because I’m scared of water...

The reason for being scared is different for everyone; it depends on our background and our past experience.

Start slowly. Accompany the child or person concerned. It is important to build their trust. This will help them to progress with you in stages. Above all, do not force them, do not rush them and show patience.

Look at the surrounding environment together, see what’s going on. Oh, look at that little girl who’s enjoying herself over there! And that little boy jumping in! Aren’t they cute!

Take your time, walk close to the water. Associate water with a positive experience.

Games will help us to get accustomed to the water. At the edge of the sea, kick at the waves! No way! I won that one!

There are toys available at the swimming pool. It’s great! My boat floats and my whale spits water!  

Learn to love the water! And this is an essential point, even for adults. 

Fear of the water surely has an explanation, but the No. 1 reason is because we don’t know this environment, we can’t control it. At least, that’s what people think… 

Get used to the water in stages. A little water on the face, splash around, a little water over the head and go with  PLOUF.
